The day before Florence

So, we leave for Florence tomorrow, which I am very excited for. But, talking about today, we started the "sacrifice" section of our Gift and Sacrifice class. It is very interesting and I think I will like this section more than the gift theories. We started off class with a group presentation of Babette's Feast: a comparison between the text and film. Then, we dove into the theories of Hubert's and Mauss' "Sacrifice: It's Nature and Function."

Later at 3 pm, we had art history class where Devin presented her topic about Jewish Quarters (the History of Jews in Rome) and Maggie's presentation about fountains and aqueducts (specifically Acqua Paola). After class was done, I went and packed my stuff for the early morning train ride to Florence. Here we come Firenze!
